Throughout my years in school I’ve had various opportunities in writing research papers. For example, I wrote a research paper about Andrew Jackson my sophomore year of high school. Specifically, it was about how the death of his wife affected his presidency. The experience of writing this paper was fun because it was on a topic that I found enjoyable, and Jackson is one of my favorite presidents, so researching him was fun. Another experience with research was a paper on the benefits of the southern border wall proposed by President Donald J. Trump. These papers helped contribute to my sense of identity as a writer, teaching me that you have to put effort into what you’re writing, and make sure that your sources are accurate and reliable. In blog post #11 I dissect Miss Representation and my thoughts about the film. In blog post #12 I discuss my ideas for a research paper and start talking about first few paragraphs. In blog post #13 I talk about revisiting the documentary and how I found multiple statistics to put in my research paper. I discuss the revision process as I wrote my paper and organized my ideas. In blog post #14 I talk about returning to my paper and how I finalized it. Although there were many obstacles and struggles along the way, I ultimately learned a great deal about the issue presented in the documentary as well as myself as a writer. I am excited for everyone to read what I wrote, and am proud of the product of my efforts.
